Last week, my friend Ian Pfaff brought over a new toy. His father was an audiologist and used to go around to schools giving hearing tests. This is the noise generating unit that he would use to perform these tests. Its a curious box that doesn’t seem to do a whole lot except generate different flavors of white noise. Ian couldn’t find a good use for it and asked me to give it a go.
The following were all made with just the noise generator and an Echoplex tape delay unit.
trumpet rock lived and died with the short career of bill chase. this video really gets to the heart of the whole genre. why you should watch the whole thing…
1. cocaine=chest hair=bad stage banter
2. awesome video feedback loop due to a monitor behind the singer. (who is jim peterik, later singer of Survivor and “eye of the tiger” which i personally have laid hands on the 2″ 24 track master tape)
3. there’s an amazing video glitch at around 4:30 while guitar shorty is trading 4s with peterik.
4. the audience member who shouts “yeah!” after the lyric “this is the year we find the path and take it to the rainbow’s end”
